It’s been quite quiet for a while here, don’t you think? Probably the main reason is that I went abroad and started to work as an expat in Bangkok, Thailand. Don’t ask me. It’s awesome so far! But, time is passing really quick and blogging got lower priority.
This is changing now as imho writing articles improves your writing, teaching and coding skills! I could convience some of my friends to join the team. We have got two new web dev brothers on board now – Julien and Mischa. Both passionate developers specialized on web technologies such as Flex, JSP, Typo3, OpenACS, etc. Additionally Fabian mentioned he definitely wants to blog more as well. That’s a lot good news.

To sum it up, we are expanding … Expect a wider variety of topics in the near future. I love WP 2.7 fab!

from today we are supporting your personal avatars from gravatar.com. You will recognize them in the post comments (see this post) and in the sidebar in the recent comments. If you don’t know what gravatar is, then here is a brief description:

A gravatar, or globally recognized avatar, is quite simply an 80×80 pixel avatar image that follows you from weblog to weblog appearing beside your name when you comment on gravatar enabled sites.

The creation is easy .. you just signup with your email and upload your avatar. Your image then appears on your webdevbros comments and hundreds other websites you comment. The nice thing is if you change it, it will affect all your existing entries on all sites. Thats cool! Long live service oriented architecture … Get your gravatar now and be displayed on webdevbros

Blog down and data lost

Sorry guys but our blog has been down for the past weeks and we have lost all the data. The reason for this loss is that our hoster just removed the account without giving any notice. We have to admit that it was a free webhosting (http://bcurrant.com/)� and you should never rely on them but at least we should have been informed about the deletion. Damn GUYS!! However, thanks to google’s caching we could recover most of the articles and bring them back to life again. Bloggerism at web dev bros� will continue and the old articles will be available within the next days… dont forget to update your RSS readers ;)

We want to welcome everybody to the new web dev hot talk. If you don’t really know the terms and/or want to know what the blog is (or rather will be) about just go to the “what is it all about” page. Basically we want to post hot stuff about web scripting e.g. our experiences as web devs for some years now, tips & tricks, new technolgies, programming style, etc. We made this decision because of the love to coding and for this reason we feel somehow that we owe the code something … If you feel the same hit the “RSS subscribe”. Or even better make it your startpage. A beer for the first one.
